Perceived temperature 2022

Physiological Equivalent Temperature (PET) as a measure of perceived heat stress on a summer day at 2 pm. Takes air temperature, radiation, wind and humidity into account. The map covers built-up areas, street space and green spaces. Water bodies such as lakes and canals have no PET value and stay empty. Source: Berlin Climate Analysis 2022.

Coverage gaps

  • Not all urban areas are modelled. If an address lies up to 50 m from a modelled area, for example at a block edge, we show that area’s value.

What we don't show

  • Night-time values are reported separately.

Frequently asked questions

Night-time noise disturbs the sleep phases in which the cardiovascular system and nerves recover. The World Health Organization recommends a guideline value of 40 dB for night-time noise (LNIGHT). The Berlin noise mapping therefore reports LDEN and LNIGHT separately.
