Values

Scale
Higher = more usable green space and better heat protection

Calculation

Usable green space and heat protection per planning area: green space provision 0.30, proximity to green spaces 0.15, bioclimate 0.20, PET heat stress 0.15, cold air influence zone 0.10, cold air flow corridor 0.10. PET counts inversely (cooler = more points). Normalised to 0–100.

Coverage gaps

  • Private gardens and courtyards do not count towards public green space provision.
  • PET varies strongly at block level and is smoothed out in the LOR aggregate.

What we don't show

  • Quality and state of maintenance of parks not included.

Frequently asked questions

Night-time noise disturbs the sleep phases in which the cardiovascular system and nerves recover. The World Health Organization recommends a guideline value of 40 dB for night-time noise (LNIGHT). The Berlin noise mapping therefore reports LDEN and LNIGHT separately.
